About Forest

Forest is a shy little guy that is working on building his confidence so that he can be ready to show the world his fun, energetic and playful side!

When Forest meets new people, he is very shy and keeps his distance, but with time and patience he begins to trust and then enjoys being near his humans for naps, cuddles and play time. When he meets new dog friends, he is standoffish at first and needs time to build his confidence with them, but once he knows he can trust he is a whole new dog!

He loves to run and play, and wrestle with his trusted doggy friends, and will also curl up for a nice nap with them as well. He looks to his trusted doggy friends for leadership.

Forest is doing very well with his potty training and is also crate trained. The crate isn’t his favourite place, but he tolerates it, and will settle especially if he is with one of his friends. Forest loves his walks and does really well on a leash. He looks to his humans to lead the walk, but also loves to stop and smell all the smells!

Forest loves running around the house, playing with toys and doing zoomies. He can be a bit destructive when he is bored looks for things to chew on, but some good redirection to his toys will help correct this behaviour.

He does not like to be home by himself without another dog to keep him company. If left by himself, he is very stressed and afraid, and will bark and pace.

Forest is looking for a home that will give him the time and patience he needs to feel safe with his new people and help him learn how to trust. He has come so far already in the 3 weeks that he has been here, and will continue to blossom with patience, belly rubs, toys to play with and lots of treats (he asked me to write that).

Forest would do best in a home with another confident dog that he can look to for guidance and to keep him company at home, so he doesn’t feel afraid.
