About Flamita

Flamita is a dream dog! Can initially be timid but warms quickly.

From his foster: "He wants to please his humans and loves his pack. He enjoys his food and treats at any time. He is a cuddler and is happy to snuggle and give kisses. He takes less than 10 minutes to adapt to a new home life from our experience upon his arrival.
He loves his comfort whether it be a bed, (human or dog) or the couch. His fav toy so far is the long green KONG for chewing on. Subject to change as he gets more familiar with the dog toy box. At first he was unsure of the TV it seemed. He loves exploring out back with the pack."

Sweet and loveable Flamita is a gentle guy. He hasn’t been around children, but it’s expected he would be good with them.

Made fast friends with the dogs in his foster home. It would be great if his new forever home had another dog similar in temperament, but he can also be an only dog.

Flamita would love to have someone home more often than not. Enjoys attention but is pretty independent.

This guy will fill your home with love! Please consider adopting him!

Adoption Fee | $500

Adoption fees help cover the costs associated with rescue, such as vetting, boarding, and transportation.

Prior to adoption, dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and 4Dx tested, and they receive any necessary treatment. After adoption, they are eligible for one month of free pet insurance.

Why We Love Fostering

  • Fostering is such a rewarding experience and works great for us as it is very flexible. We love seeing the difference in their personalities from day 1: from timid and nervous to a happy, healthy, better-socialized dog. It gives them time to decompress before going to their perfect home. Fostering enriches our lives knowing we are saving a life each time, and giving them a better life ahead. It warms the heart knowing you were part of this process.

Why We Love Fostering

  • There is a special joy in seeing the transformation from fear to trust in a foster cat’s face and posture, the first time they relax and warm up to me. There is so much comedy in a litter of crazy kittens, rollicking and tumbling, learning how to be big cats. Each foster kitty has been cared for as if they were my own, and I enjoy the confidence in the feeling that they are ready for their forever home. That is the biggest difference between choosing to adopt from a small rescue rather than a shelter, and why I love volunteering. People often ask me how I can be so strong to let such sweet kitties go to adoption, but the feeling that I have space to help another is worth the emotional goodbye. Penny is the twenty-first cat I have helped, and I am not going to stop anytime soon! Fostering for Pets Alive is by far the most rewarding volunteering I have ever done.
