About Sunny
Sunny is available for adoption!
Male | 1.5 years | 8 lbs | Long Hair Chihuahua
Sunny is a tiny dog with a huge personality, endless energy, and an even bigger need for love and affection. This adorable little Chihuahua boy is playful, loyal, and full of life, happiest when he’s zooming around the backyard, playing fetch, chewing on a bone, or curled up in bed snuggled tightly against his person. Sunny absolutely adores attention and wants to be involved in everything you do — if you’re sitting down, expect him to be right beside you pawing for pets and covering you in kisses.
While Sunny is incredibly sweet once he feels safe, the world can feel a little scary to him at first. He is especially nervous around unfamiliar people, particularly men, and may bark or growl when meeting someone new. With patience, routine, and reassurance, however, he settles in beautifully and quickly shows his affectionate, loving side. He has done well with other dogs after a slow introduction and is learning to coexist peacefully with cats too, although he still needs supervision and continued training.
Sunny is very much a puppy at heart and comes with all the goofy, energetic little dog antics that go along with it. He loves toys, zoomies, belly rubs, and outdoor playtime, but he also struggles with separation anxiety and wants to be close to his people as much as possible. Crates are not his thing, and he would much rather sleep cuddled up in bed with his humans. He is currently working on house training and does well using pee pads alongside outdoor potty breaks.
Like many young dogs, Sunny is still learning boundaries and manners. He can become overly excited, chew when bored or seeking attention, and has shown some resource guarding tendencies when first settling in. He also cannot have soft stuffed toys, as he will tear them apart and try to swallow the stuffing. Despite his quirks, Sunny is an incredibly loving little companion who thrives with consistency, patience, and lots of affection.
Sunny’s ideal home would be with someone who is around often and wants a constant little sidekick to share life with. In return, he’ll give you endless cuddles, entertainment, loyalty, and love packed into one tiny, adorable package.
