Izzy is a sweet, goofy girl with a calm nature, a playful streak, and a whole lot of love to give. This beautiful Lab mix is generally pretty laid back, happily spending her days napping while her people are at work, then soaking up all the cuddles, pets, and attention once everyone is home. Whether she’s chewing on a Benebone, chasing a ball, wrestling with her sister Delilah, or climbing onto the couch beside you for snuggles, Izzy just wants to be close to her people.

While she can be a little anxious in new situations, Izzy is friendly with unfamiliar people and warms up quickly — especially if pets are involved. She’s a bit chatty at times but not overly vocal, and her goofy personality shines through once she feels comfortable. She can occasionally be a bit of a bully with Delilah during playtime, but the two girls are deeply bonded and rely heavily on one another for comfort and reassurance.

Izzy is still learning some important life skills, including house training, leash walking, and polite manners. She has no idea how personal space works and will enthusiastically paw, climb on, or jump up for affection if allowed — though she is starting to learn boundaries and responds well to calm, consistent guidance. Like her sister, Izzy thrives on routine and structure and will need patience while she adjusts to a new home and learns the rules.

Most importantly, Izzy must be adopted with Delilah. These girls are a package deal and take comfort in having one another nearby as they continue building confidence in the world around them. Izzy is looking for a calm, patient home that understands shy, undersocialized dogs and is willing to give her the time, routine, and love she needs to truly settle in. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion who will happily claim both your couch and your heart.

Many of our dogs are adults that have never received any obedience training or experienced structure and routine prior to being rescued. Behavioural issues are common.
