About Red
Red is just about as perfect as a dog can be. He's surprisingly quiet, relaxed, friendly, and very well behaved. He has never attempted to go on the furniture, he is perfectly crate trained, his energy levels are ideal, and he's just a really good, sweet dog.
He knows his name, comes when he's called, and responds very well to correction. We're working on "sit" (I think he knows, he's just unwilling to comply) and I'm sure he'd be a quick study if he went to obedience classes.
He is absolutely perfect in the car as well. He's fantastic with our foster's dog (which is a miracle -- most small dogs bully her mercilessly) and has been a wonderful addition to the foster's home. I think he would transition to most any home quite well, although considering his tiny frame and tendency to growl, a home with small children (or children who are not experienced with dogs) might not be ideal.
Similarly, it might be helpful if his adopter were familiar with toy breeds/Chis -- they sometimes communicate in ways that can be misconstrued as aggressive and can quickly turn into "bad" dogs if treated improperly.

Adoption fees help cover the costs associated with rescues, such as vetting, boarding and transportation.
They also cover spay/neuter, heartworm testing and treatment (if necessary), rabies and DHLPP vaccines, microchip, and one month of pet insurance prior to adoption.

Why We Love Fostering

The thought of cats and kittens missing out on a loving home is one big reason as to why I foster. I thoroughly enjoy watching homeless cats go from being afraid of their own shadow, to throwing themselves at you with all their pent up love. It is so hard to see the cats/kittens leave once they are ready, but knowing someone has adopted a once abandoned sweetheart is the best feeling ever.
